The joys of home maintenance
Back in October we needed a lawn mower since we left our old junk ones in the city we moved from. My wife happened to find what seemed like a good deal at a yard sale. Mostly she was buying a furniture item, but it included a mower. The guy told her it ran and even started it but only let it run for a couple of seconds. Since it was fall, I didn't attempt to try it out until just a few days ago. That was when I discovered the mower was "shot". It turns out it is a 1993 model and has obviously seen it's better days. Being a typical guy, I decided to purchase about $40.00 worth of parts to "fix the thing". Of course this was just a waste of time and money. Meanwhile, the grass continued to grow and now the weather forecast was "RAIN RAIN RAIN". Knowing I had to do something, I diligently searched out the best deal on a "NEW" mower. Woo Hoo the grass is now neat and trim. So the moral of the story is, just buy the new product when things are looking that way and "trash the old junk". Of course, I'll be happy to accept a donation from anyone feeling generous. ; -) Just click on the Paypal donation button below. Thanks!

FOP Commendation
On December 20th 2004 I happened to make a traffic stop. Subsequently, I and other SJPD Officers found that the occupants of the vehicle I had stopped had just robbed a convenience store in the area. All suspects pleaded guilty and on April 2nd 2005 I received a commendation from the Missouri Fraternal Order of Police. It's nice being recognized, but credit should go to all involved that night. It was a team effort.
